Precision Brand® 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. Type 316 is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine and textile finishing equipment. Branded® shim is fully traceable and quickly identifiable- thickness, material type and lot number are printed right on the shim material.
