3M™ Perfect-It™ 1 finishing material is a fast cutting finishing material designed to remove 3M™ Trizact™ 3000 and finer scratches. When used with 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1 finishing material pads (sold separately) this unique formula cuts like a compound but handles and finishes like a polish - leaving a high gloss, swirl free finish. 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1 finishing material is a high performance, fast cutting finishing material designed to remove 3M™ Trizact™ 3000 and finer scratches. When used with 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1 foam finishing pads this unique formula cuts like a compound but handles and finishes like a polish. The solution allows you to eliminate traditional rubbing compounds and machine polishes that are typically required to leave a high gloss finish and reduce swirl marks. It's a specially engineered formula that minimizes the stress and mess that often accompanies other solutions. The Perfect-It™ 1 finishing material and pad are preceded by Trizact™ abrasives, which are used to rid automotive panels of scratches and imperfections. The teal colored pad corresponds with the teal color liquid and cap on the Perfect-It™ finishing material. We created these corresponding color schemes to help operators who conduct multiple applications in the shop keep track and minimize errors. For optimal performance, apply 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1 finishing material to the panel and hold the finishing pad as flat as possible. Applying medium pressure (egg crates collapse) followed by light pressure tends to work well. Operating the buffer tool between 1200 and 2000 rpm to get the best results. Exceeding this limit may cause sling and excess heat, which can burn the paint. To check for any remaining, barely there scratches after using the foam pad, we recommend applying 3M™ inspection spray and a 3M™ PPS™ sun GUN™ II to highlight any imperfections that may otherwise be hard to detect.
